A new ready-made version of Angel Delight is to go on sale for the first time.
The famous mousse like pudding, first sold in 1967, was a huge family favourite in the 1970s but has slipped out of fashion in recent years.
Now makers Premier Foods are relaunching Angel Delight in a “singe serve” pot as part of attempts to modernise the brand, The Sunday People can reveal.
The traditional sachets, with their “just add milk” instruction, will continue to be available.
Fans of Angel Delight include TV talent spotter Simon Cowell.
Cowell ate bowls of the strawberry pudding between auditions for the hit show and even in his limo on the way home from the studios.
The new format will be sold in strawberry, butterscotch, chocolate and banana.
Premier Foods say they are also overhauling the Angel Delight mix.
The sachet version is also being given a fresh look with “real” strawberry and chocolate ingredients.
