After Zlatan Ibrahimovic was rested by Jose Mourinho, England international Rashford justified his selection with an early goal at Old Trafford.
The 19-year-old was a constant threat throughout the 2-0 win and Scholes was impressed by his display as Chelsea suffered their fifth defeat of the season.
The former United and England midfielder told BT Sport: ‘Sunday was the template for what Man United need to do in big games.
‘Not just in the forward areas but everywhere on the pitch – the intensity, the possession, there was a speed about United’s play.

‘They [Chelsea] were scared of Rashford’s pace; Luiz, Kante trying to get back at him. He has such ability.’
Rashford’s opener was his second Premier League goal of the month after he found the back of the net in United’s routine win over Sunderland.
