Billie Piper has promised Doctor Who fans will ‘love’ the new Doctor.
The 13th Doctor will be announced as Roger Federer won his eighth Wimbledon title over Marin Cilic.
Former Doctor Who star Piper, who played companion Rose Tyler, tweeted a teaser about who the new star will be.
She didn’t give much away but reassured Whovians that they won’t be disappointed.
She said: ‘Whoever the new Doctor is…enjoy…it’s the best.’
The new star takes over from current Doctor Peter Capaldi, who is making his exit in the Christmas special.
The episode will also feature the first Doctor, played by David Bradley.
The Christmas special marks the First Doctor’s first appearance since 1983, and also represents the first multi-Doctor episode since 2013 with Matt Smith and David Tennant.
Meanwhile actor David Tennant, who starred opposite Billie as the tenth Doctor, made an appearance at the Wimbledon final.
He was seen beaming in the crowds and wearing a rather dapper checked suit alongside Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke.
Now we’re not saying there’s some sort of hint here, but Tennant popping up at the final coupled with Billie’s tweet has got us wondering.
And it got fans wondering too.
THIS IS ALSO AN INTERESTING POINT.
