Kindhearted women make 'angel gowns' for newborn babies who die early so they can be buried with dignity

Grieving mothers and fathers are being beautiful clothes for babies who die shortly after being born or are stillborn to help them honour their short lives.

Bereaved parents at three hospitals in Manchester are being given a beautiful “angel” gown in which to dress their babies before they say goodbye.

Made from donated wedding dresses, the gowns are hand-stitched by volunteers at Tameside, St Mary’s and Stepping Hill hospitals, the Manchester Evening News reports.
