A vague release date for Kingdom Hearts 3 has been announced in a new trailer, which also reveals a new Toy Story crossover world.
While the release date of the third mainline entry in the Kingdom Hearts series has always been a slippery beast, Disney have announced at their D23 expo it will arrive at some point in ‘2018’.
The trailer itself is probably every Kingdom Hearts fan’s biggest dream, featuring Sora in Andy’s bedroom as he meets Woody and Buzz Lightyear.
After a CGI cutscene, the action switches to outside Andy’s house – where Sora can be seen taking down enemies littering the front garden alongside Toy Story characters.
This marks the first time Pixar have taken the plunge into the world of Kingdom Hearts – a series which has previously relied on ‘classic’ Disney characters like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.
So could this mean more Pixar worlds will feature? We’re secretly hoping The Incredibles could making a fleeting appearance too. Just please not Cars.
Other worlds previously confirmed for the title include Big Hero 6 and Tangled, so maybe Frozen is next on the list?
Kingdom Hearts 3 will launch on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2018.
