Kray twins paintings pulled from auction at last minute after family member calls them fake

An auction of artwork by the infamous Kray twins was pulled at the last minute – after a Kray family member told the auctioneer they were ‘Sexton Blake’ – cockney rhyming slang for ‘fake’.

The Sunday People understands that a lot of 13 paintings, said to have been done by the Kray twins after they were jailed for life in 1969, were due to be sold at the Westenhanger Auctioneers near Folkestone in Kent last Sunday.

But just before the collection – eight paintings said to be done by Reggie and five by Ronnie
