Manchester United have been stuck in sixth place longer than Chelsea have been top of the Premier League

Feels like Chelsea have been top of the table for AGES, doesn’t it?

With Antonio Conte’s men charging towards the Premier League title, it seems as if they have been sat in first place for months. In fact, they have been in pole position since 10th December 2016 – a remarkable 93 days.

That’s quite some length of time to stay in the exact same spot in the table. However, there is one team who have been in their current position for even longer.

Remarkably, United have now been sat in sixth place for 100 days – this season’s longest consecutive number of days any side has stayed in one position.

That means they have not moved up or down the table since 3rd December LAST YEAR.

Chelsea (1st)

Man United (6th)

And while both Jose Mourinho and United fans will agree that sixth place is not where The Red Devils want to be, think on this.

The last time United were NOT in sixth place (in December last year), they were seventh… behind West Brom.

So, progress. Right?
