Netflix series Gypsy starring Naomi Watts has been cancelled after just one season.
The drama series followed therapist Jean Holloway (Naomi Watts) who begins to develop questionable relationships with individuals in her patients’ lives, and also stars the likes of Billy Crudup, Sophie Cookson and Lucy Boynton.
The series itself was met with mixed reviews from critics, currently having a score of 45 on aggregate site Metacritic, with many picking fault with its slow pacing and unlikeable characters.
According to Deadline, Netflix have confirmed the show will not be returning for a second season, becoming another victim to the streaming platform’s recent spree of cancellations.
Earlier this year, Netflix have cancelled Girlboss, The Get Down and Sense8 which was met with outrage and even petitions from fans.
There was however some justice following the cancellation of Sense8, with a two-hour finale special set to air on Netflix in 2018 to resolve the hanging storylines from the second season.
Other cancellations on the platform include Marco Polo and Bloodline.
If you fancy trying Gypsy however, you can find the full first season streaming on Netflix.
