Sir Bruce Fosyth’s daughter has revealed that her famous father is “doing fantastic” after his recent health scare.
Debbie Matthews confirmed the TV legend was on the mend after spending five days in a hospital intensive care unit with a severe chest infection earlier this month.
Speaking to This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Debbie said: “He’s good, he’s watching. It’s been a rough year but he’s doing fantastic.
“He’s just been amazing. Wonderful father we’re very proud of him.”
The 89-year-old has been nursed by wife Wilnelia after returning in an ambulance to his mansion in Virginia Water, Surrey.
He was rushed to St Peter’s Hospital in Surrey with a serious chest infection, with all six of his children accompanying him at his bedside.
Second eldest daughter Julie Forsyth announced last week that the ex-Strictly host was recovering well.
Speaking to The Sunday People, Julie said: “I have been to see him and he’s doing great.
“He is getting over a chest infection so it’s a bit difficult, but he’s doing good.”
Bruce’s manager Ian Wilson gave a “special thank you” to the NHS staff who treated him during his spell in hospital.
The star has never fully recovered from two aneurysms – bulges in blood vessels –and surgery in 2015.
