A man dressed as a parrot is trying to sell a house.
The three-bedroom property, in Bolton, features “a gloss black kitchen with granite work surfaces, an outdoor entertaining area, and three reception rooms,” according to the estate agent.
In order to garner some interest in the £225,000 home, a mystery gentleman agreed to dress as a tropical bird, popular with UK households.
It means that the house listing isn’t just dreary shots of bathrooms and doorways. The man-sized parrot adds a splash of colour. It’s quite bizarre.
The semi-detached property is being sold by Platinum Properties. Estate agents there wanted to have some fun.
Steve Laycock, who runs the business, said the homeowner was “up for a laugh”. And the marketing works, apparently. The listing has been causing a stir since it went live on Monday, the Bolton News reports.
Steve said: “We’ve already done a couple of viewings. We always like to think we do some of the best photography of the estate agents in the area.”
Steve added that the parrot does not come as part of the purchase – and its identity remains a secret. The bird may feature in further property listings.
