The bodyguard of Taylor Swift has backed up the singer’s allegations of sexual assault by a radio DJ, claiming he witnessed the incident happen in front of him.
Swift is in court regarding an alleged incident of groping which reportedly took place in 2013 when Swift was 23. At a backstage meet and greet, Swift alleges that KYGO radio show host David Mueller put his hand up her dress, and groped her backside.
Mr Mueller originally sued the singer for £3m ($3.87m) after claiming that the singer’s accusations had cost him his job, after Taylor filed a complaint against him.
Swift is counter suing the former KYGO radio DJ, claiming sexual assault and seeking damages of just $1.
Now, her bodyguard Greg Dent has claimed that he witnessed the DJ reaching his hands underneath the Shake It Off singer’s skirt.
However, Dent claims he did not take action as he usually takes his cues to intervene from Taylor, and she gave none, so ‘he didn’t sense danger after he touched her’, reported The Guardian.
‘She reacted, pushed her skirt down and moved over closer to [Mr Mueller’s girlfriend]. So in my opinion, I knew he touched her,’ he said.
However, the I Knew You Were Trouble singer later complained and Mr Dent confronted Mr Mueller at the event.
In a confident testimony which reportedly lasted an hour, Swift called the then 51-year-old’s actions ‘horrifying and shocking’.
She went on to say: ‘What Mr. Mueller did was very intentional.’
‘I am critical of your client for sticking his hand under my skirt and grabbing my ass,’ Swift told Gabriel McFarland who is representing the radio show host in court.
The incident is reported to have taken place backstage at Denver’s Pepsi Center in June of 2013.
Mueller no longer works for KYGO radio station.
