When is the Cheltenham Gold Cup? Runners and riders, TV times, betting odds and Newsboy's tips

The Greatest Show on Turf gets underway on March 14 when this year’s Cheltenham Festival begins at Prestbury Park.

All eyes will be on the jewel in the crown of the festival: Friday’s Gold Cup day.

But neither of the past two winners will be competing this time round, sadly.

The 2016 champion, the-then 9-4 favourite, Don Cossack was retired in January after suffering torn tendon. 2015 winner Coneygree is also ruled out.

Last year’s runner-up Djakadam will be looking to go one better this time round. But third-placed Don Poli
