Woman bakes incredible sponge cake complete with chicken, fries and edible packets of salt for new KFC opening

A woman has baked an incredible cake complete with chicken pieces, chips, sauces and even packets of salt to celebrate the opening of a new KFC drive through.

Sadie Harrison from Plymouth managed to perfect the famous Colonel Sanders logo printed on edible icing on the chicken bucket.

To make the KFC cake, Sadie moulded Rice Krispies into shape and covered them with crushed corn flakes to create the chicken, the Plymouth Herald reports.

The novelty cake maker was commissioned by staff at the new drive-through branch which is opening in St Budeaux, Plymouth, today.

Sadie, of Bake Me Beautiful , even made fries, tomato sauce and individual packets of salt.

The 18-inch plate it rests upon is about the only thing you can’t eat.

Sadie also made 100 cupcakes ready for the family and friends day held at the new restaurant in Wolseley Road.

She said: “I am super-chuffed with the outcome of this cake. Everything is edible from the sauce pots to the spoon in the beans. The little details are what makes this cake for me.

“It took about 11 hours to make.”

The cake maker said she had been inundated with positive comments on her Facebook page.

Sadie, who has been baking cakes for about five years, is not sure whether staff or customers are getting to tuck into her creation.

The restaurant has been planned for the site of a former petrol station for more than year, having been given planning permission in February last year.

The fast food giant said the new branch, replacing a smaller one in nearby St Budeaux Square, would create 35 jobs.
